Nokomis Lions host 51st annual basketball tournament

NOKOMIS -- The Nokomis Lions Club sponsored the 51st annual eighth grade Lions basketball tournament last week, which ran from November 1-5 in the Nokomis High School gym. Teams from Nokomis, Vandalia, Pana, Morrisonville, (Taylorville) Vision Way Christian, Hillsboro, Cowden-Herrick/Beecher City, and Shelbyville would participate in the tournament. Chamber discusses Christmas, nickel raffle, annual meeting

NOKOMIS -- The Nokomis Chamber of Commerce met at 7:30 a.m. on Thursday, Nov. 4 at Demi’s Diner. Vice President Judy Rupert presided over the meeting in absence of president Ed Heck. NOKOMIS -- The closing on the former Nokomis Kroger store will occur sometime this week. Standard Holdings, LLC will close on the former Kroger store, owned by Kroger Limited Partnership. NOKOMIS -- The Nokomis City Council met in regular session on Monday, Oct. 25. Scott Hunt, representing WHKS Engineers, Planners & Surveyors located in Springfield, introduced himself and his firm to the council. NOKOMIS -- The Santa Dennis Spirit of Christmas Giving is once again sponsoring the “Angel Tree” program.
