NOKOMIS — The Santa Dennis Spirit of Christmas Giving is once again sponsoring the “Angel Tree” program. The program is for Nokomis CUSD #22 children of families in need of a little extra help at Christmas.
2021 marks the twelfth year of the program’s existence in Nokomis. The program delivers gifts of toys and clothing for children from birth to 12 years of age.
Families wishing to participate should fill out the applications that the children received from school. The deadline to return them to Nokomis Christian Missions is Friday, Nov. 5
The “angel tags” will hang from a Christmas tree at the Missions. The tags will be ready for pickup by anyone wishing to purchase items for those children in need by no later than Thursday, Nov. 11.
Delivery of purchases with no wrapping should arrive at the Missions by no later than Saturday, Dec. 4.
Local businesses, clubs, or organizations wishing to help with this program are more than welcome to assist. Assistance via monetary donations, gift donations, and gift sorting are available options.

In 2020, 35 families with a combined 85 children received gifts from the program.
Tentatively, dates for family pick up of their children’s gifts is December 16-17.
