Tammy J. Deere, 58, of Tower Hill passed away Sunday, January 30, 2022 in Memorial Medical Center, Springfield. She was born November 13, 1963 in Shelbyville, to James “Hap” Gullidge and Roberta J. (Cole) Wallace. Tammy married Daniel Deere on December 22, 1992 in Pana, and he survives. Tammy was a graduate of Pana High School, Class of 1981 and the Decatur School of Practical Nursing. NOKOMIS -- The Nokomis City Council met in a special session on Thursday, Jan. 27 with the intent of hiring a new police chief. All commissioners were present with the exception of Michael Glenn. Delores May Stolte, 83, of Nokomis, died on Sunday, Jan. 30, 2022, at Taylorville Memorial Hospital. She was born on Dec. 9, 1938, in Nokomis to John and Grace (Altevogt) Stolte. Delores Stolte She went to Nokomis schools. A long-time member of First Baptist Church in Nokomis, she cleaned houses, did the ironing, and babysat for lots of family members. Bruce Edward Fenton Sr., 75, of Hillsboro passed away on Saturday, January 29, 2022, at Hillsboro Rehabilitation & Health Care Center. Bruce was born February 20, 1946 in St. Louis County, MO to the late Willis Alva and Viola Louise (Hicks) Fenton. He married Linda Lee Friesland, and they later divorced. TAYLORVILLE -- According to Christian County Sheriff Bruce Kettelkamp, their jail is out-of-date and needs urgent improvements. The Christian County Correctional Center was built in 1977. It marks its 45th anniversary this year. The center also serves as the base of operations for the Christian County Sheriff's Department.
