The Bi-State region will be experiencing humid conditions and scorching extreme heat this weekend through early next week. SHELBYVILLE -- A Shelby County co-op team took home championship gold last weekend at the 2025 Illinois High School Association (IHSA) Bass Fishing State Final at Lake Shelbyville. The sports co-op of Windsor High School and Stewardson-Strasburg High School won the state title with Myles Verdeyen, Hayden Porter, and Heath Westendorf fishing last Friday and Saturday. SHELBYVILLE -- The Independence Day holiday will feature a full night sky of fireworks courtesy of the annual fireworks show, presented by the Greater Shelbyville Chamber of Commerce. Eastern Illinois tuition rates to increase

MATTOON -- Incoming freshmen and transfer students coming to Eastern Illinois University will expect an increase in tuition beginning at the beginning of the 2025-26 academic year. Tuition will be increasing by 2.75% per credit hour, according to a statement by Matt Bierman, the University's Vice President of Business Affairs.
