EDWARDSVILLE -- Madison County State’s Attorney Tom Haine announced Thursday that prosecutors have filed juvenile charges (known as delinquency petitions) against 24 students and have filed adult charges against two other students in connection with fighting Aug. 30 at Alton High School. TEUTOPOLIS -- At least five people are dead with a section of an Effingham County town being evacuated as a result of a Friday night crash. A news release from the Illinois State Police Saturday morning revealed that a multi-vehicle crash occurred late Friday evening.
