MOWEAQUA -- The Muddy Water Rendezvous in Moweaqua will be this Saturday and Sunday. Events will include tomahawk throwing, longbow shooting, black powder gun demonstrations, blacksmithing, woodworking, rug weaving, spinning wheel demonstrations, and a candy cannon. BLUE MOUND -- There has been an increase in domestic violence among adults and disciplinary issues among students. The concerns were presented by the police department in the latest meeting of the Blue Mound Village Board. There were 50 complaints in the past month, with 26 in Blue Mound and 24 in Macon. Illinois State volleyball player Kaitlyn Prondzinski announced her medically-imposed retirement from volleyball, according to a news release from ISU Athletics Wednesday. NORMAL -- A member of the Illinois State volleyball team is voluntarily entering medical retirement, according to the program Wednesday. Kaitlyn Prondzinski is retiring from the sport due to prior medical injuries which resulted in significant downtime in the 2020, 2021, and 2022 seasons. VILLA GROVE -- Illinois American Water (IAW) announced on September 22 the acquisition of Villa Grove's water and wastewater systems. The newly acquired systems add approximately 1,489 water and 1,069 wastewater customers to the Company’s eastern Illinois service area. One dead in Interstate 55 accident

FARMERSVILLE -- A truck driver from Northern Illinois is dead following an accident last week in the panhandle of Montgomery County. The accident, which occurred last Thursday, Sept. 22, occurred two-and-a-half miles north of Farmersville along Interstate 55. Frank Amendola, 67, of Somonauk was northbound on Interstate 55 in a Kenworth semi when he collided with the rear end of another semi. The other vehicle, operated by Darin W.
