Nokomis council makes two new hires

NOKOMIS -- The Nokomis City Council approved two new city employee hires during its regular meeting on Monday, Nov. 14. The opening for a full-time wastewater employee is now closed, following the hire of Jerome Taylor. The hire is in immediate effect and Taylor will start work this week. COALTON -- The annual audit was an item of discussion during the Coalton village board's meeting on Wednesday, Nov. 9. MOWEAQUA -- The Muddy Water Rendezvous in Moweaqua will be this Saturday and Sunday. Blue Mound hires part-time officer

BLUE MOUND -- There has been an increase in domestic violence among adults and disciplinary issues among students. The concerns were presented by the police department in the latest meeting of the Blue Mound Village Board. There were 50 complaints in the past month, with 26 in Blue Mound and 24 in Macon.
