This edition of Mac’s Korner was based on various pieces previously under publication between 2017 and 2020.
In the United States, more people play softball than any other game. Basketball is next, then baseball, then table tennis. Wanted to know that, didn’t you?
Mac: Just pull the plug
Last night, my kids and I were sitting in the living room.
I said to them, “I never want to live in a vegetative state. I do not want to be dependent on some machine and fluids from a bottle.”
I would add, “If that ever happens, just pull the plug.”
They got up, unplugged the TV set, and threw out my wine.
(The little devils!)
Rita Rudner
“It’s a bit dangerous out there,” comedienne Rita Rudner once said. “[and] I guess men have to choose between marriage and death.”
“I guess they figure that out with marriage, at least they get meals,” Rudner continues. “But then they get married. Then they find we don’t cook anymore.”
Why we can’t have the Ten Commandments in every courthouse
Why can’t we have the Ten Commandments in a courthouse?
You cannot post, “thou shalt not steal.” You also can’t post, “thou shalt not commit adultery.” The same goes for “thou shalt not lie.”
Why? Because it’s a building full of lawyers, judges, and politicians! It would create a hostile work environment!
Quick quips from Mac

A wishbone is no substitute for a backbone.
What makes life worth living is giving and forgiving.
No one can tell me why we invaded Iraq.
Mac’s final thought
Roses are red. Tomatoes are redder. I think we both know…I like you way better.
God bless until next week!
