TAYLORVILLE — A request for a well-being check and reports of large numbers of cats in the area led Taylorville Police Department (TPD) to seize 61 cats from a residence.

Currently, these animals are being housed at the county’s animal control, but they do need varying degrees of medical care and other needs.

TPD is asking the community for monetary donations as well as food and litter for these animals.

Donations can be brought to Christian County Animal Control.
