NEAR TAYLORVILLE -- The Christian County Sheriff's Department (CCSD) is investigating a traffic crash near Taylorville resulting in the dead of a 31-year-old Nokomis man. On Wednesday, Dec. 8 at approximately 8:11 p.m., Christian-Shelby 911 received a call for an automotive accident on the Nokomis-Taylorville Blacktop (County Highway 1) just north of County Highway 8. NOKOMIS/BUTLER -- The Nokomis Woman’s Club met on October 14 at the Nokomis City Park, then drove to Bremer Sanctuary in Butler, which is the Hickory Hills chapter of the Illinois Audubon Society. NOKOMIS -- The Nokomis Lions Club sponsored the 51st annual eighth grade Lions basketball tournament last week, which ran from November 1-5 in the Nokomis High School gym.
