TUSCOLA — The smell of coffee beans and the sight of drive-thru lines will soon be a reality for Tuscola residents. Scooter’s Coffee will soon be opening a Tuscola location, according to postings on various job board websites. However, the company did not Heartland Newsfeed’s multiple requests for comment.
Scooter’s Coffee was founded in 1998 and is based in Bellevue, Neb. As of June 2024, the company operates locations in 29 states and has over 800 locations.
Central Illinois communities such as Clinton, Paris, Springfield, and Taylorville have at least one Scooter’s Coffee location. The company is the second-largest drive-thru coffee chain in the United States, behind Dutch Bros Coffee. Scooter’s Coffee, like Dutch Bros., does not have any lobbies at their locations.
In 2022, Heartland Newsfeed reported additional franchise locations were being planned for Bethalto, Centralia, Greenville, Harrisburg, Mt. Vernon, Olney, Salem, and Vandalia. As of publication, all of those planned locations are open to the public.
In addition to the development of the Tuscola location, two locations are set to open in Bloomington and Edwardsville at any time.
It is not currently publicly known who the franchisee is for the Tuscola location.
