NOKOMIS — The Nokomis City Council met in a special session on Thursday, Jan. 27 with the intent of hiring a new police chief. All commissioners were present with the exception of Michael Glenn.
The session immediately went to executive session after mayor Michael Holliday called the meeting to order.
The meeting later returned to regular session announcing the position is being offered to Talon Burton. The offer is pending acceptance, which includes the terms of the contract.
Upon contract approval, employment is immediate for a term of two years at $31.90 per hour.
