Nov. 28 hearing to discuss reduction and/or expansion of business district

NOKOMIS -- A special hearing relating to Nokomis' business district will be held later this month. The meeting will be on Monday, Nov. 28, as set by the city council via a new amendment and ordinance. The special hearing was initially to be a week earlier. Nokomis seeks new police chief

NOKOMIS -- The Nokomis City Council met in a special session on Thursday, Jan. 27 with the intent of hiring a new police chief. All commissioners were present with the exception of Michael Glenn. The session immediately went to executive session after mayor Michael Holliday called the meeting to order. Submissions being accepted for fall rummage sales in Nokomis

NOKOMIS -- The city of Nokomis’ inaugural citywide rummage sales will occur on Friday, October 15 and Saturday, October 16. Delivery of submissions can be via a couple of ways. E-mail submissions to Jake Leonard at [email protected]. Call Leonard at (217) 565-9273. The deadline for submissions is 5 p.m. on Friday, October 1. Citizens expressed concern about ‘no parking’ ordinance in Nokomis council meeting

NOKOMIS (Heartland Newsfeed) -- Many residents were in attendance during the City Council proceedings on Monday night, Feb. 24 to discuss a 'no parking' ordinance on Pine Street that was passed at the previous meeting.
