The following police blotter entries come courtesy of the Christian County Sheriff’s Department and the Taylorville Police Department:

Christian County

Accidents

Oct. 31: A vehicle driven by Samantha Walter, no age or address reported, was eastbound on Illinois Route 16, just east of Pana, when a deer ran into the roadway and was unable to avoid striking it. The vehicle was towed due to damage in the crash. The driver of the vehicle was uninjured.

Nov. 1: A vehicle driven by Shiana Bailey, no age or address reported, was eastbound on 1700N Road at approximately 1500E Road when it approached a slight right turn. The vehicle began to spinout and enter the ditch north of 1700N Road. No injuries were reported. The vehicle was towed from the scene.

Nov. 2: A vehicle driven by Robert Aten, no age or address reported, was eastbound on Illinois Route 16 and struck a deer in the roadway. The vehicle came to a stop on the south side of Route 16. No injuries were reported and the vehicle was towed from the scene. A vehicle driven by Thomas May, no age or address reported, was traveling on Route 48 in Taylorville and hit a deer in the roadway. No injuries were reported and the vehicle was towed from the scene.

Nov. 4: A vehicle driven by Russel Ishmael, no age or address reported, was southbound on 1800E at approximately 450N when it struck a deer. The vehicle was able to be driven from the scene. No injuries were reported.

Taylorville Police

Arrests

Nov. 2: Michael T. Morrissey, 34, Stonington, was arrested for retail theft.

Nov. 5: Dylan R. Blades, 27, Edinburg, was arrested for residential burglary.

Nov. 6: Michael S. Gobble, 36, Taylorville, was arrested on an active warrant.

Brown County

The Brown County Sheriff’s Office reports the following activity:

Accidents

On 11/01/2023 there was an accident on US 24 at CR 905E.  A vehicle driven by Ross L. Dormire of Mt. Sterling pulled out in front of another vehicle traveling East on US 24.  Dormire was transported by EMS to a local hospital with serious injuries.  The driver of the other vehicle James A. Moore of Beardstown was not injured.  The accident investigation was handled by the Illinois State Police.

10/31/2023: Justin D. DePoy, Hannibal MO: Speeding 76/55 MPH Zone.

11/03/2023: Micheal J. Dittmer, Quincy: Speeding 71/55 MPH Zone.

11/04/2023: Lidia A. Mata, Prospect Hts.: Speeding 65/45 MPH Zone. Christ M. Dimbu, Rushville: Speeding 54/35 MPH Zone. Ryan A. Huck, Genevieve MO: Speeding 70/55 MPH Zone.

11/05/2023: A search warrant was conducted at 513 W. North Street in Mt. Sterling. Kelli L. Quincy, Mt. Sterling was cited Possession Control Substance – Fentanyl, Intent to deliver Methamphetamine over 15g, Possession of drug paraphernalia. Quincy was given a notice to appear in court, and released.

Greene County

The following police reports were filed between October 27 and November 2. These reports are public information and are obtained from the Greene County Circuit Clerk’s office. All individuals have been arrested and charged, or cited in the case of traffic violations. All are presumed innocent until proven guilty.

The following individual was charged with a felony:

Jarrod R. Campbell, dob 3-08-1984, home invasion/cause injury, aggravated battery/great bodily harm, aggravated battery/victim over 60.

The following individuals were charged with a major traffic violation:

Roy M. Mielke, dob 6-19-1983, driving on revoked license, operate uninsured motor vehicle.

Joey Green, Jr., dob 10-21-1992, driving on suspended license.

Christopher M. Edwards, dob 4-27-1998, driving on revoked license.

Shannon M. Wood, dob 12-23-1977, driving on suspended license.

The following individuals were charged with an ordinance violation:

Bethany A. Winfield, dob n/a, barking dog.

Tyler K. Forrester, dob 2-26-1979, unsafe building.

Donald E. Cox, dob 10-23-1970, unsafe building.

The following individuals were charged with a traffic violation:

Brady J. Feeney, dob 2-27-2002, disregard official traffic-control device.

Lora M. Benson, dob 7-11-1975, operate uninsured motor vehicle.

Malindy A. Farris, dob 5-10-1996, registration suspended/license tax sticker not purchased, operate uninsured motor vehicle.

Steven T. Osterman, dob 8-09-1994, operate uninsured motor vehicle.

Kathleen M. Trost, dob 1-08-1958, expiration of registration.

Braedyn A. Staats, dob 7-07-2006, mufflers/1st, 2nd.

Dylan W. Decker, dob 10-03-1997, registration expiration/1st and 2nd.

Jacob C. Bertman, dob 12-19-2000, expiration of registration, operate uninsured motor vehicle.
