Barbara Ann Coughlin, 70, of Assumption, died January 7, 2022 in her home.
Barb was born on December 30, 1951 in Pana, the daughter of John Thomas and Lucille Theresa (Rever) Coughlin.
She was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church of Assumption and served on the St. Mary’s Altar Society. Barb also served the Assumption community as a councilwoman for seventeen years, the Assumption Alumni Committee and an active member of the Comet Girl’s Club.
She worked as a dental assistant for Mid Illinois Dental Associates in Taylorville for forty-three years and enjoyed crossword puzzles and crafts in her spare time.
Surviving are her sisters Patty (Richard) Carter of Bella Vista, AR and Cathy (Rich) Koontz of Pana, nephew and nieces Colton (Chelsea) Callan of Assumption, Colby Callan of Anna, Alicia Koontz of Oreana, Tara (David) Clark of Wichita, KS, Lauren Madson of Bella Vista, AR, and Megan Carter of Fayetteville, AR, several great-nieces and nephews, sister-in-law Terri Coughlin of Oakley, and brother-in-law Joe Callan of Assumption.
Preceding her in death are her parents, brother Terry Coughlin and sister Linda Callan.
Funeral Mass will begin at 11:30 a.m. Wednesday, January 12, 2022 in St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Assumption. Visitation will be from 9:30 a.m. until time of service.
Burial will be in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Assumption. Memorials may be made to St. Mary’s Altar Society or St. Mary’s Cemetery.
Seitz Funeral Homes, Assumption is assisting the family with arrangements.
