CHARLESTON — Adam Cushing is looking forward to the upcoming college football season, after what he calls an “extended offseason.” That extension the Eastern Illinois football coach refers to is a result of the COVID-19 pandemic.

“What an exciting day, though, to be on the eve of football season here,” Cushing states during a media scrum Tuesday.

He would describe what his team and what the university could tackle that was under their control.

Cushing would express his thanks to those who have helped ensure that the Panthers will have a football season this spring.

“There has been so much behind-the-scenes work to get us to this point,” Cushing states.

Cushing would answer questions from the media for roughly 20 minutes before Harry Woodberry would answer questions. Woodberry would answer questions for the remaining 10 minutes of the media session.
