RANDA, Switzerland (UPI) -- The world's longest pedestrian suspension bridge opened Sunday in Switzerland, measuring 1,620 feet long and hanging 278 feet in the air. (UPI) -- Charter Communications Inc. ended speculation it would acquire Sprint Corp., announcing it would not seek a merger between media companies. Discovery to buy Scripps in deal valued at $14.6 billion

SILVER SPRING, Md./CINCINNATI, Ohio (Heartland Newsfeed) -- Discovery Communications Inc. said Monday they have reached an agreement to buy Scripps Networks Interactive Inc. in a cash-and-stock deal valued at $14.6 billion, including $2.7 billion of debt.
