NEAR TAYLORVILLE -- The Christian County Sheriff's Department (CCSD) is investigating a traffic crash near Taylorville resulting in the dead of a 31-year-old Nokomis man. On Wednesday, Dec. 8 at approximately 8:11 p.m., Christian-Shelby 911 received a call for an automotive accident on the Nokomis-Taylorville Blacktop (County Highway 1) just north of County Highway 8. NOKOMIS/BUTLER -- The Nokomis Woman’s Club met on October 14 at the Nokomis City Park, then drove to Bremer Sanctuary in Butler, which is the Hickory Hills chapter of the Illinois Audubon Society. Nokomis Lions host 51st annual basketball tournament

NOKOMIS -- The Nokomis Lions Club sponsored the 51st annual eighth grade Lions basketball tournament last week, which ran from November 1-5 in the Nokomis High School gym. Teams from Nokomis, Vandalia, Pana, Morrisonville, (Taylorville) Vision Way Christian, Hillsboro, Cowden-Herrick/Beecher City, and Shelbyville would participate in the tournament. Chamber discusses Christmas, nickel raffle, annual meeting

NOKOMIS -- The Nokomis Chamber of Commerce met at 7:30 a.m. on Thursday, Nov. 4 at Demi’s Diner. Vice President Judy Rupert presided over the meeting in absence of president Ed Heck.
