Dropbox confidentially files for IPO

SAN FRANCISCO (UPI) -- File-storage company Dropbox confidentially filed for a U.S. initial public offering Thursday, people familiar with the matter said. The company, valued at $10 billion, is expected to make the public offering led by Goldman Sachs Group Inc. and JPMorgan Chase & Co. in the first half of this year, Bloomberg reported. HP recalls computer batteries due to fire and burn hazards

PALO ALTO, Calif. (UPI) -- Hewlett-Packard has recalled 50,000 lithium-ion batteries for notebook computers and mobile workstations, according to a news release. The batteries can overheat and pose fire and burn hazards, according to a statement released Thursday by the United States Consumer Product and Safety Commission. The computer company received eight reports of battery packs overheating, melting or charring, including three reports of property damage totaling $4,500. North Korea’s only 3G network provider withdraws services

SEOUL, South Korea (UPI) -- North Korea's only 3G network provider will pull out of the hermit kingdom, cutting off some 3.5 million citizens subscribed to its local Koryolink services. Egypt's telecom giant Orascom froze operations in the North early last month, due to regime's continuous nuclear and missile provocations, Newsis reported, citing Japanese intelligence sources.
