Returning to school could be the answer to your dream career

January always seems to have people thinking about what their future plans are. It could be focusing on your health and well-being or attaining your financial goals. Enjoying Europe’s world-apart escapes

In my early days as a guidebook writer, Europe's undiscovered nooks and undeveloped crannies held the most appeal for me — and they still do. But with ever more sophisticated travelers armed with enough time and money to see the Europe of their dreams, places I "discovered" a few decades ago are now suffering from "Back Door" congestion. Given that, I've come to treasure even more those destinations that still have the feeling of being a world apart from everyday […]

TOKYO (UPI) -- A sushi restaurant owner paid $3.1 million for a 613-pound bluefin tuna at a Japanese auction Saturday, a record price reflecting the growing scarcity of the prized fish. Kiyomura Corp. made the winning bid, which equated to more than $5,000 per pound. The company operates the Sushizanmai restaurant chain in Japan. Amazon hops on board the blockchain wagon

The announcement was made by Amazon Web Services (AWS) CEO Andrew Jazzy regarding their newest endeavors under the blockchain -- Quantum Ledger Database (QLD) and Amazon Managed Blockchain (AMB). These hotel fees are making your stay more expensive

Last week I wrote about some of the new and different ways airlines are collecting fees, rendering many base fare comparisons moot. Well, as it turns out, a similar phenomenon has also been affecting a different part of the travel sector for years. I speak, of course, of the hotel industry. Just as looking on third-party travels sites for flights can sometimes cause you to overlook the true cost, there are a few semi-hidden hotel fees that also increase the […]

Why winter is actually a great time for home remodeling

Perhaps one of the main advantages of being a property owner is the ability to make alterations to your home. Living in an apartment is fine, but you can never actually improve its structural appearance or add anything at all. A recent survey found that nearly two-thirds of consumers are planning on renovating their homes. Additionally, according to the U.S. Census Bureau, 30% of remodeling activity was major home additions, 40% was for minor alterations, and 30% for general repairs […]
