Hardin man sentenced on drugs, explosives charges

HARDIN -- A Calhoun County man has pled guilty to several drugs and weapons charges. The State's Attorney's office reported Tuesday on the conviction of 35-year-old Jonathan E. Myers of Hardin. Myers pled guilty to theft, meth possession, and attempted possession of an explosive or incendiary device. Pittsfield man takes on trash woes head-on

PITTSFIELD -- A Pike County resident has taken trash hauling into his own hands after a recent company took over waste hauling in Pittsfield. Pittsfield and other area residents are upset with changes brought by Canadian-based garbage pick-up service Green For Life (GFL). GFL recently bought out Area Disposal and Trash Queen. Jordan Monroe indicted for fraud

SPRINGFIELD -- The owner of a rental car business with ties to Jacksonville has been indicted by a grand jury in Sangamon County. Urgent Rent-a-Car owner Jordan J. Monroe received his indictment Thursday on charges of insurance fraud, according to WLDS. Charge filings on June 29 report an alleged false claim to the National Interstate Insurance Company in February 2021. Brighton man arrested for child pornography

BRIGHTON -- Illinois Attorney General Kwame Raoul has announced an arrest of a Macoupin County man on child pornography charges. 38-year-old Robert C. Owens of Brighton faces charges in Macoupin County Circuit Court with five counts of possession of child pornography. Each charge, a Class 2 felony, is punishable by up to three to seven years in prison. Owens’ bond is currently at $75,000.
