MT. VERNON -- A 45-year-old Mt. Vernon man charged with reckless homicide was ordered detained in the Jefferson County Jail after the court found he is likely a threat to the community. Robert A. Lewis is accused of striking 62-year-old Thomas Taylor with his pickup truck Tuesday following a dispute between the two men in a Mt. Vernon alley. CLINTON -- The owner of the nuclear power plant in Clinton is seeking regulatory approval to keep the plan in operation for another 20 years. Reports state that Constellation Energy, the owner of the plant, recently applied for license renewal to the Nuclear Regulatory Commission to extend its existing contract to 2047.
