We'll See About That with Ron Cey Episode 157 Leave Tom Hardy Alone! Ron Cey
MATTOON — Enrollment for the summer interim session at Lake Land College is up nearly 9%. Students are taking advantage of the historic $100 tuition guarantee and flex-scheduling options.
More than 1,400 students are enrolled this summer, resulting in an 8.8% increase in head counts. It is also an 8.1% increase in full-time equivalency.
The college announced in March that in-district tuition would reduce to $100 per credit hour for the summer session. That rate will also extend into the academic year starting this fall.
“We are pleased to see students and community members take advantage of the historic $100 tuition guarantee opportunity,” said Lake Land president Josh Bullock. “We know our students are resilient. [We] applaud them for getting ahead this summer and returning to their goals of a college education.”
Among those enrolled, 34% are enrolled in workforce-ready programs. 37% are enrolled in transfer-ready programs. Overall, 60% are taking their summer classes online.
Due to this flexibility, more students are able to pursue programs — both degree and non-degree – in ways most beneficial to their lifestyles.
