CAMARGO — Illinois Route 130 is closed along a northbound stretch in Camargo for work around a railroad crossing.

The Illinois Department of Transportation closed Illinois 130 from Main Street to Hickory Lane on June 20.

The closure was necessary for work completion by the Decatur & Eastern Illinois Railroad to replace its crossing with Illinois 130 in Camargo. The closure plan was for seven to ten days, barring any weather complications.

Motorists should expect delays, allowing additional time to navigate around the work site. To avoid the work area when possible, make use of alternative routes. Drivers should pay attention to changing road conditions and signs within the work zones. Obey posted speed limit signs within the work zone. Refrain from using mobile devices while inside the work zone.

Project completion in Camargo to be next week

An expectation on work completion will be between Monday, June 27 and Thursday, June 30.

The project is part of a six-year project to improve more than 3,500 miles of highway and nine million square feet of bridge deck. This project is part of the Rebuild Illinois capital program, which is investing $33.2 billion into all modes of transportation.

Accomplishments to date include $5.2 billion in improvements statewide on 3,020 miles of highway, 270 bridges, and 428 additional safety improvements.
