RAYMOND — The Raymond village board discussed a quote for a new coin accepter for bulk water sales during its regular session on Monday, Feb. 5.

The board voted to approve the expenditure for replacing the machine for $1,439.

The village now has a copy of the EPA discharge permit that can be viewed during regular business hours at the village hall.

In addition, they are awaiting a letter allowing for less water testing on lead and copper samples, which are currently not presenting any issues.

There was a discussion on replacing a water line. The board decided to cut into the roadway before the busy season so that the water line is ready for installation.

In departmental reports, the pressure washer will have a new seal put on it and the backhoe has a new radio installed. The Greenwalt building project will be on the list for repairs in the spring, as water service runs into the building. 16 tons of salt have been used to date this winter.

There could potentially be some price increases involved with Shoal Creek Golf Course. A discussion was had during the meeting, but the matter was tabled for additional discussion and action.

Other issues at the golf course include holes in the shed roof, repairs to the roof of the pro shop, and maintenance of the golf carts. The council will seek quotes for tin replacement on the shed. The course currently has 39 golf carts that will need maintenance by the time it opens for the season. Additional work before it opens include tee box work, moving around sod, and sprucing up the landscaping.

In other business, the village is seeing a five percent franchise fee from CTI Fiber. It was noted that CTI was having issues with the railroad and Janesway area. That issue is currently being worked on.

The board’s next meeting will be on Monday, Feb. 19.
