TAYLORVILLE — Published Court appearances reflect the daily 10:00 a.m. criminal call and do not necessarily account for all felony proceedings heard that day. Christian County Resident Judge Amanda Ade-Harlow from the Fourth Judicial Circuit presided over the following cases, which were heard on October 31, 2023.

  • Dean A. Ellis, 22CF195. (Delivery of meth between fifteen to one hundred grams.) Today was the negotiated plea hearing. The defendant will serve seven and a half years in the Department of Corrections, to be served at the rate of fifty percent. Then 18 months of probation.
  • Kylee E. (Miller) Mathes, 21CF73, 22CF147. (Possession of five or fewer grams of meth; possession of a controlled substance/ twenty-four months of probation, thirty hours of community service with credit for two days; forgery of a document.) Pre-trial on the petition to revoke has been forwarded to February 20, 2024.
  • Haylee J. Taylor, 22CF37. (Possession of meth in an amount under five grams.) The defendant pled guilty to the charges and will serve two years of first-offender probation with conditions.
  • Brandie L. Jorden, 22CF13, 22CF224. (Disorderly conduct and making a false report; resisting a peace officer, corrections employee, or firefighter; aggravated battery of a peace officer.) The preliminary hearing was conducted today and the court found probable cause for the charges. Pre-trial is set for November 28, 2023.

  • Chay J. Anthony, 23CF61. (Driving with a revoked or suspended license, due to driving under the influence.) Pre-trial was scheduled for December 19, 2023
  • Aubrey D. Smith, 23CF155. (Two counts of meth delivery in an amount under five grams.) Pre-trial is contained to December 14, 2023 to hear a possible plea offer.
  • Karla L. Price, 23CF137. (Criminal damage to property totaling damages from $500 to 10k; domestic battery making physical contact.) There was no preliminary hearing today and a plea hearing was scheduled for December 14, 2023.
  • Dennis E. Wilcutt, 23CF42, 23CF164. (Two counts of violating the sex offender registry.) The pre-trial hearing was forwarded to Nov. 28, 2023.
  • Jerry W. Riggs, 23CF170. (Domestic battery causing harm with two or more previous convictions.) The first appearance was today. probable cause for the charges was found by the court. The court granted the state’s motion to revoke pre-trial release. The preliminary hearing is scheduled for Nov. 28, 2023.

  • George T. Bailey, 19CF114, 20CF260, 22CF89, 22CF91. (Aggravated domestic battery involving a strangle/ dismissed by motion of the state; domestic battery causing harm with two or more previous convictions/ 182 days in jail with credit for 182 served, one year in the Department of Corrections, and two years of probation; aggravated assault of a peace officer, firefighter, or emergency worker/ one year in the department of corrections and 182 days of credit for time served; three counts of possession of five or fewer grams of meth;) There was a status update on the plea agreement. The plea hearing was scheduled for January 8, 2023.
  • Sherrie L. Allcorn, 18CF87. (Manufacturing and delivering cocaine to a school, park, or public place, manufacturing /charge amended or reduced; delivering between one to fifteen grams of cocaine/ served 180 days in jail with credit for 90 served, four to eight months probation.) A status hearing for the petition to revoke probation was heard today. An additional status hearing was set for January 9, 2023.
  • Steven J. Nutaut, 19CF187. (Theft of display merchandise in an amount under $300 with a previous conviction/ served two days in jail with credit for one day served. Discharged with conditions.) The state withdrew the petition to revoke probation and dismissed probation. The defendant is ordered to pay all remaining fines and no further court hearings are set with Christian County.
  • Jerald A. Buerk, 23CF32. (Theft of display merchandise in an amount under $300.) A pre-trial hearing was continued to December 1, 2023.
  • Michael E. Handy, 23CF100. (Aggravated battery of a peace officer.) During pre-trial, the court discussed a problem-solving court referral, and a status hearing was scheduled for December 11, 2023.
