Nokomis Chamber met November 10

NOKOMIS — Members of the Nokomis Chamber of Commerce held their regular meeting on Thursday morning, Nov. 10, at Demi’s Diner in Nokomis.

Those present for the meeting included President Judy Rupert, Treasurer Loren Compton, Judy Beaman,
Steve Johnson, JoAnn Keele, and Secretary Roger Blankenship.

President Rupert called the meeting to order at 7:30 a.m. There was the presentation and approval of minutes of the Sept. 8 meeting, as well as the treasurer’s report, which shows available funds of $2,541.97.

Secretary Blankenship must receive all fruit orders by Friday, Nov. 18.

With the holiday season quickly approaching, President Rupert will contact Easterday Electric to install Christmas lights in November and takes them down after Christmas. Treasurer Compton was authorized to issue checks for $200 for advertising and the window decoration contest. Pastor Ryan Follis is planning a live nativity scene in downtown Nokomis.

There was no action on the annual meeting, which will be on the second Monday in March 2023.

Treasurer Compton reported that after his many years of service to the chamber, he will not be a part of the board next year.

The meeting adjourned at 8:15 a.m.

The next Nokomis Chamber of Commerce meeting will be on Jan. 13, beginning at 7:30 a.m. at Demi’s Diner.
