GIRARD — The Clover Cadets 4-H Club will be sponsoring an upcoming hunter safety course next week.
The course, in conjunction with the Illinois Department of Natural Resources (IDNR), will be on Friday, August 12 and Saturday, August 13. The times are 6 p.m. to 10 p.m. on Friday and 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Saturday.
The course will be at the Girard Community Center, south of the city square.
Subjects in the hunter safety course include responsibility and ethics, wildlife conservation, firearms and ammunition, field safety, tree stand safety, and state regulations.
The course is free of charge. Breakfast and lunch will be available on Saturday, courtesy of the Girard Fire Protection District.
