VANDALIA — A Ramsey man is facing charges in Fayette County Court for allegedly concealing a fugitive.
Jeffrey J. Bast was charged with concealing/aiding a fugitive, which is a Class 4 felony.
Information on the charge states that the defendant, “knowing Brock J. Dunaway was a fugitive from justice and with the intent to prevent Dunaway’s apprehension, aided and transported Dunaway in his black Ford pickup, letting him out behind a building in St. Elmo.”
Bast will appear again in court on August 22 for a preliminary hearing.
Meanwhile, Dunaway is facing additional charges of unlawful failure to register as a sex offender.
Dunaway made a court appearance earlier this week. He appears again in court on August 17.
The pending charges are merely allegations. The defendant is under a presumption of innocence until and unless proven guilty.
