Here is a list of regional cancellations and postponements across Central Illinois as a result of the COVID-19 coronavirus epidemic:

Montgomery County fish sale postponed

The Montgomery County Soil & Water Conservation District is postponing its spring fish sale.

SWCD is planning to hold its fish sale for this fall. As a result, they are issuing refunds to those who made pre-orders.

Customers with questions can call their office at (217) 532-3361 ext. 3.

The event was to take place next Tuesday, April 7.

AFSCME Retiree sub-chapter meeting canceled, May meeting likely in limbo

AFSCME Retiree subchapter #87 has canceled their April 13 meeting in Hillsboro. Additionally, depending on the situation surrounding the COVID-19 coronavirus epidemic, there may be a cancellation of their May 12 meeting.

Oak Terrace Resort Easter brunch carry-out only

Originally scheduled to be a traditional Easter brunch, Oak Terrace Resort in rural Oconee has revised plans for the brunch. As a result, only carry-out is available.

Easter egg hunts postponed or canceled

Most communities in the region are either postponing or canceling their annual Easter egg hunts as a result of the epidemic. Check with your local organizers for more information.

St. Joseph Food Pantry closed

Until further notice, St. Joseph Food Pantry in Ramsey is closing off access to the public.

Ramsey area citizens can make arrangements by calling (618) 423-2424. They ask that you leave a message with your name, phone number and date and time called. Volunteers will call to schedule a pickup time.

Area churches live streaming services

Some churches in the region are utilizing live streaming platforms for church services.

First Baptist Church in Pana will be live streaming Sunday morning and Wednesday devotional services until further notice.

Lakewood United Methodist Church will be holding services indefinitely via Zoom and teleconferencing for their Sunday and Wednesday services.

St. Patrick’s Church in Pana will be holding all of their Holy Week services online. As a result, no parishioners will be allowed inside as the masses are “sine populo”.
