JEFFERSON CITY (MissouriNet) -- A package of tax breaks designed to help childcare centers in Missouri hire more workers failed to make it out of this year’s legislative session. House Bill 870 would have provided tax credits for childcare providers. It would also provide tax credits for those who donate to daycare centers. COLUMBIA, Mo. -- The University of Missouri Board of Curators unanimously approved a contract extension Saturday for football head coach Eli Drinkwitz. Beginning in February, people flying out of Lambert International Airport in St. Louis will be able to book nonstop flights to Montego Bay, Jamaica. ST. Expect the remainder of your Independence Day holiday and most of this week to be hot and unbearable in the bi-state region. The National Weather Service in St. Louis has activated a Heat Advisory Sunday afternoon. It will officially be in effect as of noon Monday, July 4. High temperatures and high humidity create hazardous conditions with heat index values between 100 and 105 degrees on Monday.
