SHELBYVILLE -- The National Weather Service in St. Louis and Lincoln issued air quality warnings earlier this week for most of Central Illinois. The air quality issues are in relation to the ongoing wildfires in Canada in which the smoke was blown south across most of the Midwestern and New England states. The bi-state region will be under a heat advisory beginning mid-morning on Monday. Temperatures are to be in the 90s to 100s, with heat indexes in the 110s. The affected regions are in south central, southwest, and west central Illinois. Portions of northeastern Missouri, including the St. Louis metro area, are also impacted.
