The bi-state region will be under a heat advisory beginning mid-morning on Monday. Temperatures are to be in the 90s to 100s, with heat indexes in the 110s. NOKOMIS -- The Montgomery County CEO program will have a heavy presence from the Nokomis school district next school year. 61 cats recovered from Taylorville home

TAYLORVILLE -- A request for a well-being check and reports of large numbers of cats in the area led Taylorville Police Department (TPD) to seize 61 cats from a residence. Currently, these animals are being housed at the county’s animal control, but they do need varying degrees of medical care and other needs. Quentin McKittrick TAYLORVILLE -- An Oconee man is facing six years in the Illinois Department of Corrections after a recent conviction. Quentin J. McKittrick, 22, received a six-year prison sentence from Judge Brad Paisley on Monday, Apr. 25 for multiple charges. McKittrick is serving four years for the aggravated fleeing of a police officer and unlawful possession of a stolen motor vehicle. SHELBYVILLE — A Pana man is facing charges after reportedly making fake terrorist threats. 40-year-old William H. Carnahan of Pana is facing two counts of falsely making terrorist threats, which is a Class 1 felony for both offenses.
