Illinois early deer hunting numbers up region-wide

SPRINGFIELD -- Illinois hunters have harvested just over 47,000 deer during the first weekend of firearm season. This first weekend was from Nov. 20-22. The overall total of 47,147 falls just over 3,000 short of the 2019 mark of 50,173. These figures come from the Illinois Department of Natural Resources. DECATUR -- There will not be a late February primary for the Decatur City Council in 2021. Twelve candidates made candidate filings to City Clerk Kim Althoff for the past week.
