Renault signs deal to make 300,000 cars per year in Iran

PARIS/TEHRAN (UPI) -- French automaker Renault announced a joint venture with Iranian authorities on Monday, despite U.S. efforts to isolate Iran economically. The $779 million deal between Renault, Iran's state-run Industrial Development and Renovation Organization and privately-held Parto Negin Naseh, calls for up to 300,000 cars per year to be built at a factory in Saveh beginning in about 18 months. WASHINGTON (UPI) -- Huntington Ingalls has received a $36.4 million contract for maintenance and modernization work on the USS Dwight D. Eisenhower aircraft carrier, the Department of Defense announced on Friday. The contract is part of the fiscal 2017 incremental availability program at Norfolk Naval Shipyard. Income tax hike will cost Moultrie County residents $3.8 million more this year

  SULLIVAN (Heartland Newsfeed) -- Moultrie County residents will pay an additional $3,812,807 in state income taxes this year, according to an analysis by Local Government Information Services (LGIS). LGIS combined Illinois Department of Revenue data with a forecast by Senate Democrats to estimate how much additional income tax will be paid in each Illinois zip code. CANTON, Miss. (UPI) -- Nissan factory workers in Mississippi this week overwhelmingly struck down a bid to join the United Auto Workers union, capping a years-long campaign that drew national attention. NEW YORK CITY (UPI) -- A jury on Friday found Martin Shkreli, the pharmaceutical executive who came under scrutiny for hiking the cost of a drug by 5,000%, guilty on three counts related to securities fraud.
