NOKOMIS (Heartland Newsfeed) — Plans are underway for this summer’s Nokomis Homecoming celebration, which will be held Friday through Sunday, July 10-12, in Memorial Park.

The Nokomis Homecoming Association is seeking new volunteers to help with the planning, as other volunteers have come and gone and have requested that any interested individuals or organizations would like to get involved are invited to attend their next public meeting on April 6 at 6:30 p.m. in the park house.

The Association is hoping to once again provide a fireworks display on Sunday evening and have directed those wishing to donate to remit funds to the Fireworks Fund at the First National Bank of Nokomis (in care of Ed Chausse), 122 W. State St., Nokomis, IL 62075.

The Association is also seeking new ideas for the Homecoming and the Homecoming parade being held that Saturday.
