DECATUR — A woman with a last-known address in Macoupin County is currently in the custody of the Illinois Department of Corrections (IDOC).

Cases against Abigail L. Martin concluded in March for Morgan and Greene counties in the month of March with guilty verdicts.

Martin was sentenced to a term of three years in the Morgan County forgery case with credit for 16 days served. In the bad check case in Greene County, while court records don’t reflect a guilty verdict, she is serving a concurrent three-year stint in IDOC.

Upon her release from the Decatur Correctional Center, where she’s been since May 12, she will be under a mandatory supervised release, or parole, for the period of one year.

Meanwhile, Martin still has pending cases in Fulton, Knox, Madison, and Montgomery counties for varying charges. She has pending charges of theft, deception, and intent to defraud in Fulton County. There have been no case updates since March.

Meanwhile, she faces multiple counts of identity theft, a single charge for theft/deception, and advanced practicing of nursing without a license. The charges stem from separate incidents in 2020 and 2021. There have been no case updates since May.

In addition, Martin has pending charges for identity theft and advanced practicing of nursing without a license in Montgomery County. Those stem from a March 2020 incident. There have been no updates in this case since late 2021.

Martin additionally has multiple forgery charges in addition to a bad check, theft, and deception charges in Knox County in two separate incidents dating back to 2021 and earlier this year. She is on record under the assumed name Abigail L. Angulo-Martin. There have been no new case updates since earlier this year.

The State’s Attorneys for the above counties, Justin Jochums, Jeremy Karlin, Tom Haine, and Andrew Affrunti, did not respond to requests for comment Thursday.
