SHELBYVILLE — Good Shepherd Hospital will be holding its annual Christmas tree lighting on November 29 at the hospital.
The tree, which will be outside the hospital, will be lit by memorial lights given by families in memory of loved ones. The ceremony will take place at 5:30 p.m. on the hospital’s east lawn.
The Health Sisters Hospital System, which owns the hospital, and the Good Shepherd Hospital Foundation sponsor the annual event.
Organizers state that the lighting ceremony is a solemn way to bring precious memories into what should be a joyous holiday season.
The event will be free and open to the public.
Anyone wishing to sponsor a light on the tree should contact the hospital at (217) 774-3961. Additional information is available on the hospital’s Facebook page.
