PANA — A 62-year-old Pana man was killed as a result of an accident on Wednesday evening, Nov. 8 at Pine St. and E. Jackson. Christian County Deputy Coroner Austin Peters identified the victim as Dennis Moore of Pana.
Pana Police Department reports that the accident occurred at about 5:52 p.m. They responded, along with Pana Fire Department and Echo Response EMS to the 800 block of East Jackson for a report of a motor vehicle accident.
Upon arrival, they discovered the accident involved a piece of agricultural equipment, eastbound on Jackson St. (Illinois Rt. 16/U. S. Route 51) and a pedestrian walking west. The pedestrian was found deceased at the scene. It was reported the victim was not wearing reflective clothing at the time of the accident.
Illinois State Police Troop 6 and the Christian County Coroner’s Office responded to investigate.
The highway was closed for about six hours to allow for the agencies to complete their respective investigations.
