NOKOMIS — A Nokomis woman and a Hillsboro man are in jail following a drug bust at a local business.
Following an investigation stemming from an investigation, Nokomis Police served a search warrant on Wednesday, June 28. The warrant was serviced at Front Street Pub, 124 W. Front St. During the search, at least 100 grams of methamphetamine were found on the premises.
Barbara Krager, 55, of Nokomis, was arrested on location. Krager is facing pending charges of delivery of methamphetamine and possession of methamphetamine with intent to deliver over 100 grams. She is also facing a charge of possession with intent to deliver 100 to 400 grams of controlled substances.
Recent court records only reflect two charges at this time. They are delivery of methamphetamine 100 to 400 grams and manufacturing with the intent to deliver 100 to 400 grams of a controlled substance. Both charges are a Class X felony.
Jeremy Shipley, 47, of Hillsboro, was also arrested. Shipley also faces similar charges in court, in which they are Class X felonies.
Both individuals made their first official appearances in court on Thursday, June 29. They made their first appearances with counsel on Friday.
Krager and Shipley are both at the Montgomery County Correctional Center on a $250,000 bail, or $25,000 to post a ten percent bond.
They will appear again in court before Judge Christopher Matoush on Friday, July 21 at 1:30 p.m.
By order of Police Chief Talon Burton, Front Street Pub is closed until further notice. Another business owned by Krager, The Hippy Trip, will not be open indefinitely. Individuals in or on the property will be arrested for criminal trespassing on private property. The order is due to both properties being considered evidence as a further investigation is warranted.
