VANDALIA — A Smithboro man is facing three felony counts among four charges in Fayette County Court.
Bobby J. Webber, 36, is facing criminal trespassing to a residence with a person present. Information on the charge alleges that Webber entered a residence in the 200 block of North Kennedy Boulevard in Vandalia. The charge further alleges that Webber kicked down the door of the residence, pushing his way inside.
Two additional counts involve charges of aggravated battery. The charges are separate due to it being a person over the age of 60 and a handicapped individual.
Webber is also being charged with a misdemeanor for resisting a police officer. That charge comes for allegedly disobeying orders from Vandalia Police Department officer Wade Nevergall. Webber fled from the scene on foot before later getting caught and placed under arrest.
Webber appeared in court Friday, hearing his charges with a $30,000 bond. Public Defender William Starnes got approval to be Webber’s legal representative.
Webber’s next court will be with legal counsel virtually on April 6.
