ATLANTA, Ga. — The National Wrestling Alliance (NWA) has yet another executive vacancy as of Tuesday.
Maureen Tracy, who has been NWA’s operations director for the past few years, is stepping down. Tracy has been an instrumental part of the promotion since Smashing Pumpkins frontman Billy Corgan took ownership.
Tracy would make the announcement yesterday on Twitter:
Tomorrow is my last day with NWA.
I am so thankful for all of the amazing people I got to meet. I am also thankful for how challenging this position was, personally & professionally, as it allowed me to grow & be a better me.
Now it’s onwards & upwards to the next adventure!
Tracy has held different positions within the promotion. Personnel who have worked closely with her have nothing but good things to say about her.
There is no doubt there will be future opportunities in store. This is especially true if she chooses to remain in the wrestling business.
This marks a huge loss for the promotion, which has been hard by several departures this year. Most of these departures include Ricky Starks, Zicky Dice, Allysin Kay, and Marti Belle.
Of the four, Starks and Kay have made semi-regular or regular appearances in All Elite Wrestling (AEW). Starks is a member of Team Taz alongside Will Hobbs and Brian Cage.
Kay would appear on the pre-show of AEW Full Gear in a title match against Serena Deeb. She was unsuccessful in the match for NWA Women’s Championship. It is unknown if there’s a contract in store.
Kay, Dice, and Belle are all currently free agents working in the independents once again.
As of press time, Corgan has yet to announce who will be replacing Tracy.
