NOKOMIS — Despite current COVID-19 restrictions that are ongoing, many area towns across south-central Illinois are still setting trick-or-treating times for Halloween. Residents choosing to participate are asked to turn their porch lights on. Trick-or-treaters should only go to those homes with their porch lights on. To allow for appropriate physical distancing, trick-or-treaters should wait until the group ahead of them is departing from one’s home.

Nokomis area Halloween dates and times

The following are trick-or-treating dates and times for communities in northern and eastern Montgomery County:
  • Nokomis: Friday and Saturday, Oct. 30-31; 5 p.m. to 8 p.m.
  • Coalton: Friday and Saturday, Oct. 30-31; 5 p.m. to 8 p.m.
  • Ohlman: Friday and Saturday, Oct. 30-31; 5 p.m. to 8 p.m.
  • Witt: Friday and Saturday, Oct. 30-31; 5 p.m. to 8 p.m.
  • Fillmore: Saturday, Oct. 31; 6 p.m. to 8 p.m.
  • Raymond: Friday and Saturday, Oct. 30-31; 5 p.m. to 8 p.m.
Raymond is holding their Halloween parade on Sunday, Oct. 25. The start time is at 4:30 p.m. Envision Witt is holding a trunk-or-treat event on October 30, which will be held from 5:30 p.m. to 7 p.m. along Broadway Street. As of press time, we could not find any trick-or-treating times for Farmersville.

Pana area Halloween dates and times

The following are trick-or-treating dates and times for communities in parts of western and central Christian County:
  • Pana: Friday and Saturday, Oct. 30-31; 5 p.m. to 8 p.m.
  • Assumption: Saturday, Oct. 31; 5 p.m. to 8 p.m.
As of press time, we could not find any trick-or-treating times for Owaneco or Stonington.

Shelby County area Halloween dates and times

The following are trick-or-treating dates and times for communities in parts of Shelby County:
  • Tower Hill: Saturday, Oct. 31; 5 p.m. to 8 p.m.
  • Moweaqua: Friday and Saturday, Oct. 30-31; 5 p.m. to 8 p.m.
  • Shelbyville: Saturday, Oct. 31; 5 p.m. to 8 p.m.
In Tower Hill, they will be recommending compliance with IDPH guidelines to layout individual bags of candy on tables. As of press time, we could not find any trick-or-treating times for Oconee, Herrick, or Dollville.

Other area Halloween dates and times

The following are trick-or-treating dates and times for communities in parts of Macon and Fayette counties:
  • Ramsey: Saturday, Oct. 31; 6 p.m. to 8 p.m.
  • Macon: Saturday, Oct. 31; 5 p.m. to 8 p.m.
  • Blue Mound: Friday and Saturday, Oct. 30-31; 6 p.m. to 8:30 p.m.
Halloween trick-or-treaters should regularly use proper safety protocols in addition to COVID-19 regulations.
