PLOSKI: Voting Libertarian is not a wasted vote

“You’re throwing away your vote.”

“You can’t vote for a third party candidate unless there’s a lot of people voting for a third party candidate.”

“You can’t vote for him/her, they have no chance to win; you have to wait for a lot of people to vote for them.”

I get told this all the time.

When I was not sure who I wanted to vote for, I was told voting for a third party candidate was “throwing away my vote.” That is a lie.

I have voted for Democrats and I have voted for Republicans, but I am neither a Democrat/liberal nor Republican/conservative. Both are too authoritarian for me — telling everyone else how to live their lives and how they think you should live.

Kash Jackson and other Libertarians helped me figure out where I am on the political spectrum and what I want out of my elected officials.

It’s time to end the “you’re wasting your vote” cycle this November! I’m voting for Kash Jackson for Governor of Illinois.
