Rauner announces re-election bid for Illinois governor
CHICAGO (Heartland Newsfeed) — Illinois governor Bruce Rauner made his re-election intentions official Monday morning.
The Republican announced in a video message that he is seeking a second term. In his video, he vows to continue his fight against what he calls “corrupt career politicians”.
So far, no Republicans have come forward to challenge Rauner in the March primary. There are seven Democratic candidates vying for the nomination at this point.
Jake Leonard, a broadcast media and journalism veteran, is the editor-in-chief of Heartland Newsfeed. Leonard is also GM and program director of Heartland Newsfeed Radio Network, wrestling editor and contributing writer for Ambush Sports, a contributing writer for My Sports Vote and Midwest Sports Network, and a former contributor to Bleacher Report and Overtime Heroics.
