NHL releases exhibition schedule for Stanley Cup Qualifiers

TORONTO/EDMONTON (Midwest Sports Network) -- The National Hockey League is making their final preparations leading up the return of hockey action to end the 2019-20 season. The teams will play 12 games over three days in hub cities. All Eastern Conference games will be played at Scotiabank Arena in Toronto; all Western Conference games will be played at Rogers Place in Edmonton. Chicago Blackhawks fire president, CEO McDonough

CHICAGO (UPI) -- The Chicago Blackhawks parted ways with President and CEO John McDonough, the team announced Monday. McDonough, who was hired by the Blackhawks in 2007, was viewed as an important piece of the franchise's championship-winning teams. Under McDonough, the Blackhawks won Stanley Cups in 2010, 2013 and 2015. Before those titles, the team hadn't won a Stanley Cup since 1961. St. Louis Blues’ Vladimir Tarasenko undergoes knee surgery

ST. LOUIS (UPI) -- St. Louis Blues forward Vladimir Tarasenko underwent arthroscopic surgery on his left knee, the team announced Tuesday. The Blues said the procedure was successful and the forward will be re-evaluated in four weeks. Tarasenko, 27, played in 76 regular-season games and recorded 68 points (33 goals, 35 assists) this season. The 33 scores marked the fifth consecutive 30-goal season for the forward.
