ST. LOUIS -- St. Louis CITY SC and defender Kyle Hiebert (HEE-bert) have agreed to terms on a new contract, per a news release Monday. WASHINGTON (UPI) -- MLS club DC United agreed to hire English soccer legend Wayne Rooney as its new manager, a league source told UPI on Monday. DC United fired manager Hernan Losada in April. SEATTLE (UPI) -- Seattle Mariners legend and Baseball Hall of Famer Ken Griffey Jr. has joined the Seattle Sounders' ownership group, the Major League Soccer club announced Tuesday. SALT LAKE CITY (UPI) -- Dell Loy Hansen, the owner of Utah MLS, NWSL and USL teams, plans to sell the clubs after a report claimed he used racist language around team employees and made admittedly "insensitive" remarks about player protests.
