EDWARDSVILLE — Work is underway on resurfacing Illinois Route 159. This will mean some overnight lane closures, weather permitting. The intermittent closures along Illinois 159 are expected to last through November, according to the Illinois Department of Transportation. SPRINGFIELD -- One of the largest utility companies in Illinois, Ameren, is filing plans for electric and gas rate hikes.
