LITCHFIELD — The tourism office for the city of Litchfield has been working alongside local organizations to bring the most up-to-date event calendar for 2021.
Fortunately, several recurring events are returning after considerable delays as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic, which postponed or canceled many event dates in 2020. Two of the city’s premier events are the Litchfield Pickers Market and the Litchfield Park District Concert Series.
The Pickers Market is scheduled to kick off its 2021 season on May 9, with the operating hours being between 9 a.m. and 3 p.m. on each date. The other dates signifying the second Sunday of each month are June 13, July 11, August 8, September 12, and October 10. Booth booking can be arranged with the tourism office by dropping by their office at 400 N. State Street, by calling (866) 733-5833, or by emailing [email protected].
The free concert series will once again be returning this summer. On June 11, CNB Bank & Trust presents Scarecrows. On July 9, the First National Bank of Litchfield presents Strugglers. Bank & Trust Company, CNB Bank & Trust, Litchfield National Bank, and First National Bank of Litchfield presents Agent 99 on August 13. Finally, on September 10, Litchfield National Bank presents Big Shake Daddies.
With the exception of the September show, all three summer shows will start at 6:30 p.m. at Walton Park, 10207 Niemanville Trail. The September show will kick off at 6 p.m. More information on the Concert Series can be acquired by calling the Litchfield Park District at (217) 324-9075.
