EDITORIAL: The road to BotchaMania LIX is a hilarious one, but angers voters as well

(Heartland Newsfeed) — I sincerely wish I was kidding by calling every single presidential election in our nation’s history as a botch. I’m not. (And for you wrestling fans out there, sorry – I wasn’t referring to the annual botch festival known as WrestleMania….sorry to burst that bubble.)
I couldn’t help but write something after I saw a Facebook post from Libertarian Party national chairman Nicholas Sarwark:
Just in case you don’t quite know what I mean when I refer to the word botch, let me refresh your memory:
(v) to carry out (a task) badly or carelessly.
Similar words: bungle, mismanage, mishandle, fumble, screw up, f*** up
Example: The Democrats botched the Iowa caucus with their many logistical issues, delaying the final vote count by two days.(n) a bungled or badly carried-out task of action.
Similar words: make/made a botch of
Example: The Republicans are making a botch out of their primary election process by cancelling primaries to ensure Trump wins.
Clear enough for you?
So as previously stated, the Democratic/Republican Circus have been botching their entire primary process since candidates first announced their 2020 campaigns. Democrats botched and more than likely sabotaged their own caucus in Iowa. The prospects of the upcoming primary in New Hampshire going without some form of botch isn’t looking good either.
Republicans aren’t so perfect either. As a desperate attempt to keep Trump as their nominee for his potential re-election bid, the Republican Party affiliates in South Carolina, Nevada, Kansas, Arizona, Alaska and Hawaii have opted to cancel their primaries and illegally pledged their delegates to Trump, not even allowing for anyone else to support primary opponents William Weld and former Congressman Joe Walsh. The silver lining is in Virginia, where while they are not holding a primary, they will allocate delegates at their state convention, which may open up for delegate support for Weld and Walsh.
Both parties complain about how this, that and the other endangers the electoral process. In the case of the 2020 presidential election, both parties have botched the electoral process by screwing up how caucus votes are tallied (Democrats in Iowa) or have decided that Republican voters shouldn’t even be allowed a voice (South Carolina, Nevada, Kansas, Arizona, Alaska, Hawaii and Virginia).
Let’s not forget that in the upcoming months, both parties will be so desperate to keep their power, that they will attempt to keep any alternative voice off the ballot. Limiting voter choice is the bastardization of the electoral process. And they wonder why over 70 percent of American voters are registered third party, independent or non-partisan, and that should increase much more as a result of this election in November.
